The Doctor's Practice Style

Dr. Schissell creates a personal and safe environment through her ability to fully listen while exploring the causes of health imbalance in each patient. Treatments are individualized and the patient is treated as a whole person while addressing physical, emotional and spiritual levels as needed.

A typical first visit is an hour and includes a thorough history, review of labs supplements and medications, and examination as necessary. She uses many treatment modalities including as follows:

• Botanical Medicine - The use of plant medicines can be quite strong and yet without the side effects of prescription drugs. Botanical teas and tinctures are specially formulated for each patient.
• Homeopathy - This unique form of medicine is based on the principle of "like cures like". It is used in acute and chronic conditions and to treat physical as well as mental/emotional issues.
• Nutrition, Supplementation and Lifestyle Counseling - A wide variety of techniques are used here.
• Physical Medicine - Chiropractic, soft tissue work, also specialized orthotics.
• Natural Hormones and Other Prescriptions - These options are available on a case by case basis.

Laboratory Testing

Dr. Schissell chooses from conventional laboratory testing and from many specialized laboratory tests to help in determining a correct diagnosis.

Special lab tests include comprehensive digestive analysis, allergy testing, candidiasis testing and salivary hormone panels.

Insurance and Payment Options

We will gladly bill any insurance company that covers Dr. Schissell's services. It is up to you to verify that you have coverage to see Dr. Schissell. If you do not have insurance coverage you can pay by cash, check or credit card on the day of the visit.
